Belfield Art Group (BAG) are a non-profit established art group with room for approximately 19 artists, with social distancing measures in place when the law allows. Normally meeting every Wednesday afternoon at St Ann’s Church Belfield (OL16 5BT), BAG are unfortunately closed at the church due to Coronavirus restrictions.
Thanks to the Co-op community funding, the group is able to meet each Wednesday afternoon from 2.00 – 4.00 pm via Zoom at a cost of just £5.00 per person. The classes are tutor-led, with demonstrations on different methods and techniques using watercolour, acrylic, pastels and more.
As a group, BAG aim to make art accessible to all, regardless of ability, experience and affordability. During these difficult times, they are working hard to break down the barriers of isolation and loneliness. BAG also support those who are unable to attend each week, through sharing the planned lesson information with them, so that they may continue at home being part of the greater art community. Evidence shows inclusion and art are beneficial to a person’s mental and physical wellbeing.
When the restrictions are lifted, BAG are aimingto return to the church which has excellent wheelchair access and disabled, male, and female toilet facilities, with a small car park at the front. Light refreshments will be available free of charge.
The group hold an AGM each year in April, accounts are audited independently, and the following officers are elected each year: Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer.
