Milnrow Community

It’s been a busy time in Milnrow as different groups, organisations and business’ have pulled together wonderfully in order to respond to the pandemic. Now, more than ever, community is at the heart of everything we do and has been at the heart of The Co-operative since its founding days in Rochdale.

Our local causes

The Co-op recognises the importance of strong, local communities and every year supports over 4000 organisations through our local cause funding and support package. This year we have had the pleasure to have worked with three wonderful local causes; Belfield Art Group (BAG), Butterworth Hall Community Centre and Rochdale Foodbank.

‘In 2019 we delivered £17m* to over 4,000 local causes, thanks to our members. When Co-op members shop with us, 1% of what they spend on selected Co-op branded products and services goes to support local causes through our Local Community Fund.’

Applications now open!

We are currently inviting community groups and organisations to apply to be one of our local causes and applications are now open until the 28th June.  To be eligible for funding your project should fall under one (or more) of the three areas listed below:

  • Protecting community spaces
  • Increasing wellbeing
  • Giving people skills

If your project meets the above needs, benefiting the community of Milnrow, please find out more information and how to apply here:  https://causes.coop.co.uk/

Feel free to contact me with any further questions or enquiries.

We look forward to welcoming our new local causes!
